To access Allied Health services such as PHYSIOTHERAPY through the Medicare-based program you will need a referral from your GP. Please request for a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), this may be available through your family doctor. You will need this specific referral in order to be eligible to bill through Medicare. For concession card holders we BULK BILL. For non-concession card holders, there is a GAP of $38.20 to pay.
You will need a Doctor’s referral ONLY if you have insurance which requires it.
For instance, Workers’ Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident, as well as Medicare.
Private health insurance DOES NOT require a Doctor’s referral.
